Sunday Brunch Party
A nice party idea is the Sunday Brunch Party. This kind of party is just lovely and works very well for people who prefer quieter celebrations. Also, this doesn't have to be on a Sunday; it can be on any morning of the week.
The Sunday Brunch Party can be done at a restaurant or hotel brunch, but you can create a lovely intimate one at home. Be sure to have fresh flowers on the table, and bright or light colors. A floral theme goes well with this kind of party.
Whatever the time of year, the invitations should be sunny to indicate (subtly) that the party is in the morning. The invitations could have breakfast, landscape, or garden type imagery, or pretty much anything the guest of honor would find beautiful. Get invitations (or ideas) at eInvite or FineStationery.
Balloons and streamers in bright and/or pastel colors or floral prints make wonderful decorations. And potpourri pouches or scented candles are perfect favors. A suggested menu might include waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, quiche, cottage cheese and apple butter, fruit, banana bread, chicken salad, ham/turkey/cheese wraps, and other lighter fare. Have plenty of orange juice and coffee on hand. If it's a birthday or other celebration that warrantsw a cake, the cake could be a carrot cake or even a white cake with coconut dusting. The cake flavor really depends on what the guest of honor likes! The cake decoration should be similar to the invitation - bright/pastels, and pretty. with friends over coffee is wonderful entertainment for a Sunday brunch. I'd play some classic
strings or something similar in the background. If the guest of honor
is a fan, something like Frank Sinatra is nice background music too. Get
music ideas here.
