Christmas Ideas

Party Idea:

The Ultimate Ugly Christmas Sweater Party!

Welcome to the Christmas Ideas section of the Party Planning Ideas website! For this section, I gathered articles from other authors, in order to give you the benefit of many perspectives on Christmas Ideas. I know I tend to do the same things every year, and the way we do things are part of our Christmas traditions. However, I wanted to be sure to include more than just my viewpoint and my family's way. Enjoy all of the Christmas ideas presented here!

Christmas Party Invitations

Your Christmas party should have a theme, like snowflakes or Santa Claus, or Christmas trees. Your invitations should reflect that theme. Regardless of how big your guest list is, you can make your own, purchase ones to be filled out yourself, or order pre-printed ones online. Get invitations (or ideas) at eInvite.

Christmas Cards

Sending Christmas cards to everyone we know used to be one way we stayed in touch with distant relatives and such, but these days with social networking sites such as Facebook as well as email and other electronic means of communication, sending physical Christmas cards is becoming a dying art. When you do send them, personalizing them is one way to make the card special. This article gives tips for unique Christmas card ideas.

Christmas Decorations

IWhether you are having a Christmas party or not, you will want to decorate your house, tree, and possibly even your yard and the outside of your house. If you are having a party, you'll need to deck your party room/area out with some great Christmas Party Decorations! For some great ideas on decorating, check out these articles:

Christmas Food

For many, Christmas dinner is the central part of the day, the one part of Christmas that is most planned, and the part of Christmas that brings everyone together. In our family, we wake up and enjoy Christmas morning with our immediate families, but then meet at my sister's house for the wonderful, huge Christmas dinner. We all bring a dish or two to share but my sister does the bulk of the meal, including the turkey and usually a ham as well. She sometimes gets very stressed out. If you do too, please check out this article for easy Christmas cooking tips.

Christmas Music

Old favorites and new Christmas songs alike are loved at Christmas time. We have a tradition that we spend an evening decorating our tree and inside of our house while listening to Christmas songs and Christmas carols. We have a rather large selection of CDs that grows larger every year! We also sometimes go caroling and I certainly sing an awful lot while driving at this time of year! Here is a great article with ideas for family Christmas caroling traditions.

Christmas Stockings

When I was growing up, like most kids, we woke up at the crack of dawn and ran to the tree to see what Santa left for us. We felt and shook our packages, but weren't allowed to open any until later. What we were allowed to do, though, was go through our stockings. We used to get oranges, candy, and little trinkets. For my kids, when they were little I included train parts (Thomas), matchbox cars, and other small toys. Now that they are older, I include books and CDs and DVDs and such. Here's article with Christmas stocking stuffer ideas from the male perspective with more ideas!

Christmas Gifts

I don't know about you but I always have such a hard time shopping for people. I want to be the one who gives them something that they will absolutely love; I want to give the gift they remember and cherish, even if I can't afford to spend a lot. This article provides some really nice, but inexpensive Christmas gifts.

Happy Holidays to You and Yours!
